National Volunteer Week update
CFA has been really busy this week celebrating National Volunteer Week! Here is an update as to what’s been going on.
Fed Square Our CFA National Volunteer Week visuals are now up on the Fed Square Big Screen displaying a selection of images of our volunteers and some messages that were posted on Facebook saying ‘Thanks a million’ to them - if you get a chance drop by and have a look as they will be playing all week. See some of the images below.
Talk about employer support! facebook.com/cfavic our Facebook page has been posting CFA volunteer profiles through the week, including a very positive feature from Channel 10, coordinated by members of our media team, about Dromana Primary Teacher and CFA volunteer Ben Griffiths.
HQ Morning Tea and Talk sessions This morning CFA HQ held their own National Volunteer Week event inviting 4 volunteers from across the regions to give insight into their volunteering life and speak of their pride in their service to their community. Volunteering Victoria’s Senior Manager of Policy and Advocacy, Katherine Koesasi, also came along and spoke about her organisations role within the volunteering sector and made her own ‘Thanks a million’ speech to CFA.
As always Mick and Euan showed their support during this special week and stopped by for a cuppa and make their own ‘Thanks a million’ contribution. Euan said the chat session was “inspiring stuff CFA is built on nothing but the strength and dedication of its people – Thanks a million”
A video of the chat session along with a feature story will be posted later this week.
New support materials for all districts. If you haven’t received them already at your district, look out for some shiny and new ‘Thanks a million’ themed and Employer Recognition pull up banners, as well as ‘Thanks a million’ themed card photo frames which have been produced by OT&V and Communities and Communications to assist regions, districts and brigades in events that thank employers and volunteers throughout the year.
If you have any queries on these materials please contact Heather Lindup or Roz Long in Operational Training and Volunteerism on 9262 8394 or 03 9262 8211.
Still to come, A few of our districts are holding their own events throughout the rest of the week, keep checking back on News and Media as they post thier own updates.
Well done everyone who has helped celebrate such an important week!!!!
