The release of the new Hazardous Tree Awareness information package ensures brigade awareness and understanding of the joint standard operating procedure (JSOP) J8.03 Tree Hazard – Bushfire Response.

The JSOP applies to all emergency services personnel involved in bushfire response operations in Victoria.

CFA Chief Officer requires all operational Brigade members to complete the training as part of the seasonal preparedness program.

Training can be completed in the following ways:

Online training

Individuals can complete the training online by logging on to Brigades Online.

Step 1. Log in to the Learning Hub through Brigades Online alternatively click here

Step 2. Click the Catalogues tab- then click All Catalogues

Step 3. Scroll down to find the Tree Hazard Awareness training

Step 4. Enrol

Participants can complete the course in their own time, over a number of sessions if desired. Completion will be recorded automatically onto member records.

Brigade training

Alternatively brigades can run group sessions using materials from the information package and have each member complete the quiz and answer sheet.
