On a lovely sunny day, CFA members and the community of Irrewillipe celebrated the official opening of their new fire station.

Member for Western Victoria, Simon Ramsay, officially opened the station. Also present for this occasion was Barwon South West Regional Director Bob Barry, CFA Board Member Michael Tudball, Colac Otway Shire Mayor Lyn Russell, Irrewillipe Captain Greg Harrington and of course the volunteers of the brigade.

The day started with a tour of their new facility, which includes a two-bay motor room, two storage rooms, a bathroom, meeting room, office and kitchen.

Official proceedings began, and CFA Board Member Michael Tudball made a speech and thanked not only the volunteers but their families for supporting them. Simon Ramsay then gave a brief history of the brigade. It was then time to unveil the new plaque.

Service awards were issued to brigade members. Hundreds of hours of service were awarded to these dedicated volunteers.

A BBQ lunch followed.

The day was a huge success and Irrewillipe now has a state of the art facility to carry out its CFA duties.
