Norlane fires to be investigated
The cause of two overnight house fires in Norlane will be investigated.
CFA was called to the first fire in a block of units in Tennyson Street, Norlane about 9.15pm last night (Wednesday, 22 May).
The single-storey weatherboard unit was fully alight when crews arrived. It took around 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and the house has been significantly damaged.
CFA Operations Officer Mark Sinkinson said it is believed no one was at home at the time of the fire, however, people were at home in the neighbouring units.
Three appliances from Geelong and Corio attended the blaze.
Just after midnight, Geelong and Corio were called to a second fire in Robin Avenue, Norlane.
A truck was on fire at the property and had spread to the house. The fire took about 10 minutes to bring under control.
Both fires are believed to be suspicious at this stage but will be investigated today.
