A small grassfire creates smoke hazard for trains and cars

Around 17:50 hours tonight (15-3-13) Flynn fire brigade were responded to a reported grassfire in Berkleys Road, Flynn in D10.

Flynn tanker on turning out made an initial workback of "Make Tankers 3" due to the amount of smoke showing. On arrival crews from Flynn, Rosedale and Traralgon quickly contained and subsequently extinguished the grassfire.

Police were notified in relation to the cause being undetermined for the 2 hectare blaze. Flynn Captain requested VLine and VicRoads be notified by VicFire due to the smoke crossing over the Princes Hwy and Bairnsdale rail line.
