Registrations are still open for CFA’s first Project Management Conference next Thursday.

The conference features a wide range of speakers and sessions, with more than 20 optional sessions to choose from – many relevant to not only project teams but anyone wanting to gain or refresh knowledge about managing  risk, finance, or stakeholders.

This years’ conference theme is Project Initiation, and there will be a number of sessions that focus on getting a new project up and running, including critical factors such as securing funding,  preparing a business case, and clearly explaining the long term benefits of an initiative.

Conference coordinator Deb Parkin said that is was a real bonus for CFA to have secured Group Captain Dean Overend (Australian Defence Force Canberra) as a keynote speaker for this event.

"Dean has a long and impressive background managing projects both here and in the US, and is currently responsible for the acquisition and sustainment of assigned airspace surveillance, control and communication systems," she said.

"Projects are integral to the way we bring about change within the sector so this is an important opportunity for our people to develop the kind of skills that lead to projects being planned and delivered successfully.
