Overloaded fridge sparks fire
A 30-year-old man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fridge in his brick garage caught fire.
CFA crews were called to the Sunbury unit last night after neighbours in the complex reported seeing smoke.
The man was treated at the scene by ambulance crews and did not require any further assistance. Another elderly resident of the unit did not require treatment.
District 14 operations officer, John Maguire, said the fire only caused minimal damage to the garage but destroyed some furniture.
"The fire was brought under control quickly by our crew and was able to be contained to the garage," he said.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a fridge overloaded with food for christmas.
