Penshurst stormwater diversion works complete

CFA is pleased to announce the stormwater diversion works at the VEMTC Penshurst training campus are now complete.

This means no stormwater from the football ground can enter the campus.

Penshurst Project Manager Stephen Wong said the works were successfully completed without any major issues.

“The rock excavation and the weather conditions were our biggest challenges but we worked through it and are very pleased with the outcome,” he said.

“We apologise for any noise or inconvenience caused during the works but we thank the community for their understanding.”

“We also want to thank the Southern Grampians Shire Council and VicRoads for their cooperation and support throughout the process.”

With installation of the 300 metres of concrete piping complete, the landscaping process has begun. The ground will be resurfaced with top soil and lawn seed before the land is handed back to the council.

The next stage of improvement works at the Penshurst campus has begun with the construction of a new dam on site. Weather permitting; we expect these works to be complete by the end of January 2018.

Further infrastructure upgrade works are on track to commence early next year. These will include concreting the training area and drainage works.

CFA is committed to keeping the local community informed throughout the process.
