Petrol tanker overturns in Inglewood
A petrol tanker overturned on the corner of the Calder Highway and Sullivan Street, Inglewood at approx. 7.50pm on Wednesday 6 April.
This incident has caused a hazardous liquid spill on the road, with flammable fumes. An Emergency Warning is in place at the scene, and a Watch and Act has been issued for the Inglewood area.
The Calder Highway between Bridgewater and Inglewood is currently closed, and will be for some time as emergency services attend to the incident.
Anyone located in the area has been advised if they cannot leave, they need to shelter indoors and turn off all heating and cooling systems. Do not enter the area - it is still extremely dangerous.
Power lines are also down.
11 appliances (including resources from both CFA and MFB) are attending the incident.
