Plumpton fire contained

Two aircraft and more than 20 ground crew have gained control of a grassfire in Plumpton.

Firefighers were called around 5pm on Saturday, 24 December, to a fire on Tarletons Road in Plumpton.

D14 Operations Officer Shane Bailey said firefighters controlled the fire just north of Beattys Road.

“The focus for firefighters is to extinguish the edges of the fire, and then work to put out any pockets of fire in the burnt area,” he said.

“Aircraft will continue to work on the fire for a short time due to the rocky terrain.”

MFB crews are also attending and police are on scene for traffic control.
