PPV fan needs a new home
Lara Fire Brigade recently upgraded its PPV fan and is looking for a new home for the old one.
Lara brigade purchased the Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) fan about 10 years ago and it was upgraded about five years ago with a more efficient fan.
Our heavy pumper comes stowed with a PPV fan, and we no longer need a second fan. We're hoping to sell the fan to a brigade who has a need for it.
The fan is a 'Smallair' branded unit, with a four-stroke petrol engine.
We use positive pressure ventilation in all our structure firefighting strategies. If managed correctly it can greatly aid in the success of a structure fire attack and also increase the survivability of the fire for anyone trapped inside.
Train the trainer, training can be arranged for brigade members who are not familiar with using positive pressure ventilation.
