CFA is gearing up for its first ever Project Expo, a special indoor and outdoor event for CFA members, their families and some of our major stakeholders.
The Expo, to be held on 14 October at the Whitehorse Club Burwood East (adjacent to CFA HQ), is designed to showcase more than fifty projects, initiatives , pilots and vehicles.
Volunteer and staff members are welcome to attend at any time during the day between 10.30 and 3.30.
More than 50 exhibitors will include:
- Specialist Response Vehicles
- Scoresby Hoselayer Project
- Regional Radio Dispatch
- Volunteer Support Project
- Various equipment and PPC
- Hose Deployment System trial
- Incident Management Team Training Project
- Emergency Warning systems
- Planned Burning
David Spokes, Executive Director Performance and Strategy, said that not many people realised just how many projects – and the range of activities – CFA undertakes.
“Projects are a really important part of the way we do business and in particular the way we bring about change,” he said.
“Holding an expo is a new idea for us, but we hope it will be a great informal day for our members to get together, have a look at the big picture of what’s going on around CFA, and talk to any areas of particular interest.
“So far we have a pretty impressive variety of projects lined up for the indoor hall and at least seven or eight vehicles out in the car park,” said David.
A program of short presentations and demonstrations (to be held adjacent to the main display area) will be advertised closer to the event.
