Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Mark Potter as the Regional Director in CFA's Gippsland Region.

Mark has recently been the Manager Community Safety of the Gippsland Region. He joined CFA in 2000 and has fulfilled the roles of Community Support Facilitator, Fire Safety Officer in the (then) Westernport Area; Fire Safety Consultant, Acting Manager Community Infrastructure and Manager Community Safety in the (then) Yarra Area; and Fire Safety Program Leader and Project Manager, Mining and Energy Sector Project for the Gippsland Area.

Mark was also a longstanding volunteer, serving with the Frankston, Langwarrin and Carrum Downs Fire Brigades.

The Gippsland Region encompasses some of the State's most critical infrastructure in the open cut brown coal mines and power generation facilities. Gippsland is the centre of significant dairy, farming, forestry and paper products industries as well as public land forests, coastal ports, waterways and coastal resorts.

We congratulate Mark on the significant appointment and wish him well in his new role.
