CFA crews are working to bring two teenage boys down from a cliff off Werribee Vale Rd, Maddingley this afternoon.

Rescue

District 15 Duty Officer Steve Poulter said the boys had been climbing up the cliff before one became stuck about 30 metres up.

"His friend went back down to assist him and unfortunately both of them ended up stranded," Steve said.

"Neither of them have any injuries and crews have already brought one safely up to the cliff top, and are very close to retrieving the second male.

"It's a pretty straightforward rope rescue and all agencies are working together well to achieve a positive outcome."

Crews from Bacchus Marsh, Melton Geelong City and Ballarat City are assisting.

Police and ambulance emergency service personnel are also on scene. All agencies are working together to formulate a plan to bring the pair down.
