Rosebud shop fire

CFA firefighters are at the scene of a shop fire in Pt Nepean Road in Rosebud.

Firefighters were called to a retail store shortly before 5.30pm on Monday 26 December.

CFA District 8 Operations Officer Paul Summons said the fire involved an L-shape building which was difficult for firefighters to access.

“Firefighters are working hard to gain control of the fire,” he said.

“The building was approximately 20 x 30 metres and it has extended to several other neighbouring shops.”

The fire was called under control at 6.40pm.

Some road closures might still be in place. Police and ambulance crews are also on scene.

Trucks from Mt Martha, Rye, Sorrento, Rosebud, Dromana and Frankston are responding.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
