Rowville Juniors train at Bangholme
On Thursday 18 April, all 14 of the Rowville Juniors attended Bangholme Campus training ground for some real fire training.
The group was spilt into two teams of seven, with each team taking turns at a couple of the props on the gas PAD.
The kids got to experience the heat of the fire, and were shown various techniques in combating simulated running grass fires and gas pipe fires. The kids showed great enthusiasm towards the training, listening intently to the PAD instructors, operators and other senior leaders who attended. The looks of concentration on their faces, and smiles afterwards once the task was completed, was priceless.
Thanks to Ian Atherton DGO3 Knox Group for helping organise the night, along with all the college staff and other volunteers who attending on the night and helped make this an extremely fun and rewarding event for both the Juniors and their leaders.
The night was such a success that we will be looking at doing it again early next year.
