Fire investigators will work to determine the cause of a blaze which significantly damaged a factory in Seaford this afternoon, 18 December.

CFA was called to the fire at System Electronics in Stephenson Road around 11.30am after police nearby noticed flames coming from the building.

District 8 Operations Officer Arthur Haynes said when crews arrived the fire had involved most of the factory and was threatening other buildings.

He said firefighters did a great job to bring the fire under control in about half an hour and protect nearby factories.

The factory was unattended at the time of the fire.

Four trucks, including a teleboom, and a number of support vehicles from Carrum Downs, Dandenong, Frankston and Patterson River attended the scene.
