Season's Greetings to all CFA members
Message from myself and Euan Ferguson, Chief Officer
We’d like to thank every member for their contribution to CFA and their communities through 2013.
It’s been a busy year, full of opportunities and challenges, and we remain focused on assisting CFA members to do what they do best – protecting lives and property across Victoria.
Our members have provided outstanding service at fires and incidents across the state and assisted our colleagues in Tasmania and New South Wales. They have worked tirelessly to educate their communities and prepare for the upcoming fire season.
Our people now have better training, welfare services, equipment and infrastructure than ever before. We are providing our communities with improved information and dissemination of warnings, and brigades continue to empower their communities to become more resilient.
We are committed to supporting the Fire Services Action Plan and the upcoming Emergency Management reform; but importantly we are focused on Creating Our Future Together and will maintain momentum to see these changes through to the end, ensuring CFA is a sustainable organisation that is best positioned for the needs of our communities and our evolving emergency management sector.
We’re heading into the busiest time of year for many of us and there is a lot of activity going on, so we will be both realistic and sensitive to the demands on our members’ time.
Please take care over the festive period and throughout the summer as you go about your work − CFA's mission means every firefighter returns home safely after every incident.
All the best to you and your families this festive season and in 2014 – it’s going to be a great year.
