Shane Scoble is currently the group officer for Newstead Group but is still an active member for Guildford Fire Brigade, regularly turning out for local calls as well as strike teams.

Shane was a sector commander at the recent Mickleham-Kilmore fire.

Shane is always checking on the welfare of his team within both Guildford brigade and the Newstead Group.  He regularly phones to check in and congratulate members on their efforts and is available as a sympathetic ear when necessary. He also fiercely supports and protects his members to ensure they have what they need to get the job done.

The Scoble family is a significant part of the local brigade with father Harold, mother Diane, daughter Sarah and partner Megan all part of the brigade.

On Saturday 3 May, Shane was awarded a 30 year medal as well as brigade life membership.  He will be receiving his National Medal and National Emergency Medal later this year.

At the Guildford Fire Brigade dinner, Harold received his 30 year medal, Diane her 10 year medal and Sarah her five year certificate. That is 75 years’ service in one family – what a big night!
