Shepparton gas leak
Firefighters from Shepparton are attending to an incident at Quamby Court after a backhoe ruptured a domestic gas main.
Residents in 4 homes in the immediate vacinity have been relocated, while other residents in the area are being asked to stay indoors.
A warning was issued for the surrounding area.
District 22 Acting Operations Manager Tony Owen said weather conditions were helping crews.
"The wind is quite blustery and that's helping disperse the gas into the air," he said.
Mr Owen said crews were waiting the arrival of the gas company to shut off the main.
