Smoke alarm saves Somerville family
A Somerville family has safely escaped their burning house after waking to their smoke alarms.
CFA was called to the incident in Bungower Road just after 4.30am and found the two storey weatherboard home fully alight.
It took firefighters around 30 minutes to control the blaze, which is believed to have started in an extended section of the house being built.
The family of four escaped uninjured but the house was completely destroyed.
Fire Investigators are on scene trying to determine the cause.
Four CFA units remain on scene (10am) but there were 13 trucks and around 50 firefighters on scene during the peak of the fire.
