On Wednesday 13 November 2013 members of the Loddon Mallee Region’s Community Education Group visited the Rushworth P-12 College.

Their visit coincided with the Yr9 CFA Advance Crew’s presentation to the primary grades.  Students and CFA volunteers involved with the Advance Crew participated in class room presentations and practicable hands on activities with each class group before they moved on to the Smoke House
trailer.

The annual Advance Crew presentations are always well received by students and teachers, and the
attendance by the Community Education Group was greatly appreciated by the College.

Colbinabbin volunteer and Advance Crew Coordinator, Brian Wright, said that the Advance program always concludes with the crew speaking about fire safety and demonstrating their skill.  The Advance Crew have successfully completed the CFA Minimum Skills program and the day at the College is seen as an extension of the Community and Leadership skills that students gain during the CFA Program.

Brian added that the attendance of the Smoke House trailer further enhances the CFA’s presence in the community and he thanked the Loddon Mallee Group for the support.
