Smokies Angling Club awards
Before Christmas, CFA’s Smokies Angling Club held a week-long cod season opening trip by the Murray River near Cobram..
The Angling club is made up of CFA volunteers, staff and members of the community and the annual camping and fishing trip is a great way for club members to unwind before the holiday period and fire season starts.
35 members attended the trip, participating in a fishing competition held over eight days. Stephen Keating, Senior Station Officer at Hallam brigade and Fire Investigator, shared the following results.
Biggest Cod - Raj Favour, 74cms.
Biggest Other - Stephen Keating, Golden Perch 45cm.
Largest Carp - Blake Ebayer, 4 kg.
Points score - Robert Benning.
And winner of the lure bucket competition was Ashley Mulcahy. (Good thing he was signed up as a new member!)
