The Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria (VFBV) has discontinued proceedings against Country Fire Authority (CFA) in the Supreme Court.
This marks the end of a legal dispute that has divided CFA and attracted significant community debate, and will allow the CFA to put the CFA/UFU Operational Enterprise Agreement to the vote of employees.
The CFA will now move forward to rebuild a stronger, unified CFA.
The CFA is committed to working collaboratively with all volunteers, including the VFBV, and career firefighters in the interests of the Victorian community.
As Victoria enters another summer fire season, it is important that all CFA members are united in their commitment to serving the community and public safety.
The CFA is prepared for the approaching summer season, and the community can expect to receive the same excellent service they have long associated with the CFA.
