We have today stood aside a senior member pending a full investigation into the unauthorised use of a security camera in one of our stations.
CFA takes this issue seriously, we are committed to ensuring our workplaces are safe, secure and support the wellbeing of staff and volunteers at all times.
This includes constantly reviewing our workplaces to ensure they provide a safe environment for women at all times, where we need to make improvements we will take action immediately.
The device, which was fitted inside a storage shed at Bendigo Fire Station has been removed and the footage has been secured.
We are taking this matter seriously and have referred the matter to Victoria Police.
We understand this incident may have affected a number of volunteers who used this facility as an unofficial change room.
We are in the process of contacting those individuals and will provide appropriate support.
