Stop making excuses

The Age's Rural Affairs report Darren Gray has posted an article on how fire agencies are emphasising the importance of personal responsibility when it comes to bushfire safety.

In an article in today's paper he says:

"In the five years since Black Saturday, a vast number of changes have been made to tackle the threat of bushfire in Victoria. Changes have been made to the state's electricity system to reduce the risk of bushfire caused by electricity, and tough new rules have been adopted on building homes in high fire-risk areas,"

"But the three words ''Stop Making Excuses'' sum up a key change, a philosophical change not tied to enormous sums of capital spending on fire trucks, fire-bombing helicopters or power line safety improvements."
