Congratulations to Jase Gillbee from Briagolong brigade in District 10, who is one of the 2013 Heywire winners. This is an ABC competition that gives young people in rural and regional areas the opportunity to tell their story.

Read or watch Jase’s video entry about being a CFA volunteer and attending the Seaton fire last fire season.

The Heywire competition calls for stories about you and the community where you live. Each year, the best stories that have been uploaded to the Heywire website are broadcast across the ABC on Triple J, Radio National and Local Radio.

Anyone can upload stories to the website, but to be eligible you have to be aged between 16 and 22 and live outside Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide or Perth.

Entries for the 2014 Heywire competition close on 16 September. Your story can be created in any form of media - text, video, photography or audio. Find out more about Heywire and how to upload your story here.
