On Friday 30 August members of Stratford and Heyfield brigades visited Stratford Primary School, where Grades Prep to 6 all completed the Fire Safe Kids Program.

Almost 90 students at Stratford Primary School are now Fire Safe Kids! They learned key messages including 'one metre from the heater', 'crawl low in smoke', and 'dial 000'.

Stratford Firefighters, Mike Sears, Ken Baxter, Jason Scicluna, David Smith, David Baxter and Adrian Temple, and Phil Graham from Heyfield brigade, worked together to teach the students how to crawl low in smoke by sending them through the smoke house.

Well done to the two brigades, supporting each other and ensuring that Stratford Primary School students and teachers are home fire safe.
