Supporting NFA Fire Investigators
Over the years, a number of Fire-fighters from Fiji's National Fire Authority (NFA) have attended the CFA’s Fire Investigation Courses to obtain specialist training and knowledge.
As part of the ongoing support arrangements between the two Fire Services, the CFA Fire Investigation Section recently sent twenty (20) of the new version Fire Investigation Scene Folders across to the NFA – Fire Investigation & Research Unit in Fiji.
These are the same Fire Investigation Scene Folders that are used by CFA Fire Investigators and will be used by the NFA Fire Investigators in Fiji.
The new look Fire Investigation Scene Folder has an updated checklist which contains operational, practical and technical advice to assist Fire Investigators whilst at the fire scene conducting an investigation into the origin and cause of the fire.
The Scene Folders have been specifically designed for use by Fire Investigators and contain the following items:
- Photographic ruler
- Drawing Tool
- Business Card Holder
- Evidence Labels
- Evidence Transfer Forms
- Relevant Fire Investigation Policy & Procedures
- Fire Investigation Report Templates (Structural, Vehicle and Bushfire)
Sub Officer Tevita Seru of the NFA Fire Investigation & Research Unit has advised that the Scene Folders are a “huge contribution towards our Fire Investigation & Research Unit in Fiji.”
The following photos are from Sub Officer Tevita Seru of the Fiji Fire Investigation Unit receiving their new Fire Investigation Scene Folders.
The CFA and NFA will continue to work together in the area of Fire Investigation.
