Suspicious fires at Sunbury school
Victoria Police is investigating a series of suspicious fires which have caused significant damage to to an administration building and destroyed a bus at Sunbury's Selasian College.
CFA District 14 Operations Officer Dave Clancy said the excellent efforts of CFA firefighters from Sunbury, Diggers Rest and Riddells Creek prevented the fire from spreading beyond a kitchen and administration section of the building, which is believed to have started around 7am Sunday.
"They did a terrific job keeping the fire from spreading further, however a floor above the seat of the fire sustained significant smoke damage," Mr Clancy said.
MFB crews were also called to the school after a fire was found burning in a nearby Chapel.
The two fires followed a callout around 3am Sunday in which CFA crews found a bus on the school grounds well alight.
A Victoria Police arson chemist will visit the scene and anyone with information about the fires is urged to contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
