In District 22 at around twenty past nine on Saturday night (31 May) Mooroopna & Tatura brigades were paged to a house fire in O'Reilly Street Tatura.

When the brigades arrived on-scene they found an unoccupied single storey weatherboard house heavily involved in fire.

When Lieutenant Franklin arrived and gave a "Structure fire not yet under control" he also put in a request for the power company to attend as there was a live power line down on the property hampering fire-fighting  operations.

The volunteer crews worked quickly to minimise damage to the house which was due to be occupied shortly. Police and Fire Investigators have examined the scene and have deemed it suspicious pending enquiries.

The local shire building surveyor attended the site on Sunday to assess the damage. No injuries were reported and a "Fire stop" was placed on the job just after 10:00pm.
