On Sunday 14 April, several CFA members lined up at Greensborough Lanes to take part in the tenpin bowling event of the 2013 Victoria Police and Emergency Services Games.
Simon Egan from Wyndham Vale brigade, Werribee brigade’s Brian Hill and Leigh Dovile and John Carr from Plenty brigade competed against our emergency services colleagues. Also in the running was a team from Diamond Creek brigade.
Tenpin events on the day included singles, doubles, and team events, with three matches played in each category.
CFA competitors did themselves proud out in the lanes, with multiple silver medals and a bronze scooped up after the day’s play.
Competitor Simon Egan was full of praise for his fellow competitors, acknowledging the tough competition.
“I’m so proud of our guys for all the effort they put in on the day, especially to enter the games for some fun and to represent CFA and come out with the results we achieved.
This was a challenge as we were up against many good bowlers from other agencies throughout Victoria, including Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police, Ambulance Victoria, State Emergency Service, Department of Sustainability and Environment, ESTA 000, Corrections Victoria, VicRoads and Volunteer Coast Guards.”
The team is already looking forward to the 2014 Games.
