Chief Officer update on fire services reform
Chief Officer Steve Warrington answers some of the most commonly asked questions we have received on fire services reform in the video below.
The Chief also uses the opportunity to thank CFA people for the sensible and respectful way these changes are being worked through.
His message for all CFA is: “I know it hasn’t always been easy, especially with the spotlight on us, but I would urge you all to continue to respect each other, to keep at the top of our mind that we all share the same sense of duty to protect our communities.
“Let’s make it really clear, any suggestions we are not providing great service to our communities or community safety or we are compromising in any way by any individual or by any group is absolute nonsense and I’m saying that as much as possible. I’ll call it out for what it absolutely is, there’s probably a stronger word, but it is absolute rubbish.
“Don’t get caught up by those seeking to create mischief. Let’s continue to stay focused on our day-to-day job and the ability to respond to the needs of the community.
"I know we do a great job looking after the community. Let’s make sure we also look after each other along the journey and stay safe."
