Three stuck in crane collapse

Three workers were trapped after the crane they were in collapsed in Geelong this morning (30 May).

CFA was called to the Ryrie Street incident just after 8.45am and found the crane leaning up against a building.

The trapped workers were believed to be stuck around 15 metres high.

CFA firefighters used their teleboom to rescue the men. All three workers were rescued by 10am and are currently being assessed by Ambulance Victoria.

It’s believed one man has an injured hand.

Eight CFA trucks from Geelong and Corio attended the incident. Ambulance Victoria, SES, Victoria Police and WorkSafe are also on scene.
