Toongabbie celebrates CFA Sunday
Toongabbie Rural Fire Brigade had about 20 people attend the fire station including a couple of members of the public.
Toongabbie is a small country town located in Gippsland, about 2 hours’ drive east of Melbourne and 17km north of Traralgon.
One of the highlights of the day was that the brigade managed to get one new member interested in signing up. A couple of members the brigade hasn’t seen for a while turned up and some new members brought along their families.
The kids loved their helmets and other goodies and had lots of fun.
Brigade members gave out some fire safety information to an interested couple and it gave brigade members a chance to talk about preparedness for the coming season.
This is the third community engagement activity the brigade has been involved in during the last couple of months. The brigade is hoping part of the message has gone out there and that their community will be better prepared for the coming fire season.
