A Total Fire Ban (TFB) has been declared for the Mallee tomorrow (Sunday 29 October).

Tomorrow's conditions in the Mallee will be warm with temperatures reaching low to mid 30s with strong and blustery winds in the afternoon.

State Duty Officer Jamie Hansen said hot and windy conditions would make it difficult for firefighters to supress a fire should one start.

“Therefore we are asking people to take heed to the Total Fire Ban conditions,” Mr Hansen said.

“Fire restrictions come in force for the Mallee this Monday 30 October. We are aware that people may have been planning burn offs for this weekend, but under conditions like those tomorrow fast moving fires are possible.”

TFBs mean no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day of the Total Fire Ban.
