Tomorrow's (Tuesday 19 December) conditions will be hot and windy with temperatures reaching the high 30s and low 40s, and lightning forecast across the state.

State Agency Commander Steve Smith said hot and windy conditions would make it difficult for firefighters to supress a fire should one start.

"We are asking people to take heed of the Total Fire Ban conditions across the north of the state," Mr Smith said.

"People need to be aware of the increased fire danger, whether they are at home or travelling across the state, and ensure their fire plan covers all possible contingencies."

TFBs mean no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day of the Total Fire Ban.

Be aware of what you can and can't do and visit the Can I or Can't I page on the CFA website for details.

  • The VicEmergency App
