A Total Fire Ban has been declared for Wednesday 20th March in the Wimmera and South West weather districts.

“There is the possibility of winds of up to 100 km/hr in some parts of the state tomorrow and moving into Thursday,” said State Duty Officer Tony O’Day.

“Conditions in these areas are very dry due to the lack of rain and we are asking people to remain vigilant about the fire risk. We are expecting a cool change to come across the state on Thursday which should ease the fire threat,” he said.

Mr O’Day said most of the state will be hot and dry tomorrow and people needed to be aware of the conditions. To find out more about what you can and can’t do on a Total Fire Ban see http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/can/
