Emergency services were called to rescue a woman trapped in the roof of her house at Station Rd, in the Geelong suburb of Marshall, at about 10:40am today (Thu).

It took about one hour to bring the woman down who had reportedly been up there for four days.

Firefighters and rescue teams cut a hole in the roof and lifted her down into the house on a spineboard using roping gear.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Geelong Hospital.

The woman is believed to be about 70 years old and had gone up into the roof to check where a draught was coming from before she slipped and fell and got stuck.
