CFA crews are on the scene of a truck accident on the Hamilton Hwy in Caramut, where a truck is wedged in a creek as a result of the accident.

Fuel has leaked into the creek.

CFA District 5 Operations Officer Bruce Farquharson said CFA crews were on scene carrying out standard environmental protection.

“Heavy haulage will come and remove the truck later in the day which may cause some minor traffic delays,” Mr Farquharson said.

Three CFA trucks from Hamilton and Caramut are on scene. SES and Victoria Police are also on scene.

CFA and EPA crews are expected to be on scene for most of the day.

Earlier this morning CFA crews also attended a truck fire approximately 2km north of Benalla.

A 56-year-old male was treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics at the scene.
