Two church fires in one morning
Early this morning crews responded to two church fires in Norlane (Geelong area).
The first fire in Spruhan Avenue was called in at 4.16am, and was under control at 4.31am. Crews from Corio and Geelong City attended. Damage to the property was limited.
The second church fire, only blocks away in Sparks Road Norlane, was called in at 4.43am. Crews from Geelong City and Lara responded. The incident was under control by 5.18am. This fire caused significant damage to the church.
An aerial appliance attended both fires.
Police were on scene at both incidents and they are both being treated as suspicious. Fire investigators will attend this morning.
