Two house fires in one night

Fire fighters from Mooroopna and Shepparton attended two Mooroopna house fires this evening.

Fire fighters were called to a home In Carr crescent around 6:20pm. On brigade arrival there were a reported three persons missing. Fire crews conducted an aggressive fire attack and managed to contain the fire to the front room of the single story weatherboard home.
Power lines come down across the front of the house posing threat to crews. It was later found that occupant of the house was not home at the time of the blaze but fire fighters manage to save 2 dogs from the home also administering CPR to one dog without success but reviving one other dog. A cat and a number of other animals were pulled from the burning building. A number of pets lost in the blaze including the family’s dog. Fire is under investigation but not thought to be suspicious. Three appliances from Mooroopna and Two from Shepparton attended with 20 fire fighters on scene. 
 
Shortly after the Carr Crescent blaze, exhausted fire crews were called to another house fire close by in McKean Street. The unoccupied single story weatherboard dwelling was fully involved by the time crews arrived on scene and took 30 minutes to contain. Power lines were also down across the road posing a safety threat. A neighboring home also suffered property damage but managed to be saved by crews before substantial damage occurred.
