Are you interested in developing leadership skills in incident management? The IMT Training Project is providing a great opportunity for experienced IMT members to do just this coming up in October.

An Incident Leadership course is being held at Creswick in October and is one of a suite of training courses used in the development of Level 2 – 3 Incident Management Team (IMT) personnel.

Incident Leadership is an experiential, high-intensity leadership course that will help participants learn strategies to quickly build strong teams: manage diverse resources, interface with community, and lead operational planning extending into a strategic timeframe. The course builds on the highly successful Fireline Leadership course  and offers hands-on experience in directing, controlling, and monitoring resources during emerging  incidents. The course provides participants with opportunities to learn, practice, and improve leadership skills.

The Course is commencing on:

  • Friday evening 4th October – Sunday 6th October 2013 (1st weekend)
  • Friday evening 11th October – Sunday13th October 2013 (2nd  weekend)

If you are interested and would like more information please contact your local Regional Incident Management Team Capability Coordinator (RICCs) – RICCs contacts.  Please note you will require appropriate pre-requisites to attend the course. Your RICC can discuss this with you.

For State (HQ) based personnel please contact Luke Heagerty.

Please also note all nominations will need to be into your RICC or for HQ, Luke Heagerty by COB Wednesday 25 September to allow for pre course information to be sent out in time.
