Validation trial for new pagers
CFA is in the final stages of delivering new Unication EAS Alpha Legend pagers to its members, pending the outcome of the final validation trial with 400 pagers in the field.
Thank you to those who have completed the survey. All remaining participants are asked to complete the online survey before midnight tonight − your input is critical. The survey is available here: www.surveymonkey.com/s/3NXLN88.
This validation testing is to confirm a number of performance and usability upgrades made as a result of member feedback, received through the three-month pilot. The testing was extended to include an additional 400 pagers as a result of feedback from VFBV.
Modifications include the removal of manual time setting, a single press button acknowledgement to stop the beeping and the ability to select the next message without scrolling through the previous message.
The Unication EAS Alpha Legend is a newer, more sensitive pager that will provide better coverage for our members as well as Ambulance Victoria and SES. It was introduced following a review of pager messaging during the 2009 fires and replaces the old Infostream X3 pager which is no longer being manufactured.
