Victorian teams took out the top two places at the recent Australasian Firefighter Championships held in Launceston.

Thirty brigades from most states and New Zealand travelled to Tasmania to compete in the Australasian Firefighter Championships on 2 and 3 November.

Four brigades were in contention for the Championships at the begining of the last event, and MFB managed to hold on to win. Echuca was a close runner-up and Kelso (NSW) came third.

Victorian brigades competing were Echuca, Melton, Werribee, Lakes Entrance, Geelong West Swan Hill, MFB 1 and MFB 2.

Echuca brigade has expressed an interest in hosting the 2015 Australasian Firefighter Championships, which would be a great opportunity for CFA and Victoria to showcase its firefighting abilities to fellow firefighters from around Australia and New Zealand.
