Volunteer Support recruitment

CFA’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) approved the Volunteer Support Program on 10 December last year and recruitment of resources is now underway.

Resources will be predominantly field based, and will report into a central Program Management Office (PMO) at HQ. This follows extensive consultation and collaboration with VFBV to develop specific themes and workstreams that will enhance the Volunteer Support Program.

 Roles - Volunteer Support Program

Twenty-one positions, located right around Victoria, will work on state-wide themes affecting volunteerism.  Program members will work in the field with Regions, Districts, Groups and Brigades to understand key priorities and design and implement solutions aligned to specific projects. 

You will notice all of the roles being advertised today both internally and externally.  Roles will feature in CFA’s People Moves, The Fireman, AFAC Job Boards, the Weekly Times and online at and

Each theme will cover specific areas of work (Volunteer Development, Volunteer Sustainability and Volunteer Support) and will be linked into current practices and local priorities in CFA.  The Program of Works will report to CFA and stakeholders as a single project.
