Ballarat and Queen’s Anglican Grammar School (Woodbridge Boarding house) organised a walkathon in Halloween theme to support local CFA brigades to enhance community safety and assist with the purchase of operational equipment.

Event organisers Maggie Astbury and Sarah Halliburton said that “over 150 students and teachers from Year 7-12 from the entire school participated in the walkathon from 5pm to 9pm.” The walkathon was undertaken under a carnival atmosphere with music playing and a cricket match also being played.

The Woodbridge Boarding School coordinates this event annually, raising over $1500 for CFA for the 2015-16 fire season in which West Region's Regional Commander Phil Beasley “thanked both Maggie and Sarah and the entire Ballarat and Queen’s Anglican Grammar School for the initiative to conduct a well-run event and the kind generosity in supporting CFA.”
