Wang mechanical workshop destroyed
CFA crews using breathing apparatus have fought hard to stop a significant fire at an automotive workshop at Wangaratta spreading to adjoining businesses.
Firefighters arrived at the Greta Road business to find the 15metre x30 metre workshop fully alight just before 2.30pm, Monday 26 August.
Crews were told a car had caught fire while on a hoist and a man had been taken to hospital in a private car with burns to his face and hands.
Trucks from Wangaratta, South Wangaratta and Glenrowan battled the blaze for around 45 minutes.
The building sustained signficant damage.
It will be inspected by a building surveryor before fire investigators will be able to examine the scene.
