Waubra brigade extension opening
On Saturday 16 April CFA Board Member John Schurink officially opened Waubra Fire Brigade’s extension.
The day started with MC President of the Waubra Fire Brigade Barry Harrison welcoming John Schurink to speak and officially open the extension with the cutting of a ribbon with Waubra Captain Allan Jones. Councillor David Clark and President of the Windfarm Association John Drife spoke to the audience about the support they have given to the brigade.
After the formalities everyone inspected the facilities and enjoyed some morning tea and a cuppa.
The extension has a meeting room, office, store room and kitchenette.
Having these facilities at the station will provide the brigade with a comfortable space to be on standby, and somewhere for them to have meetings and training.
The extension was funded through the fundraising efforts of Waubra Fire Brigade members and the 2013 VESEP Program.
