Tanjil brigade received a welcome boost to its fund raising campaign this month with the donation of $5,000 from long-time supporter APA Group.

Tanjil brigade, which is located in a rural area north of Moe, has limited opportunity for fundraising because of its location. The donation from APA Group, which locally operates the Gooding Gas Compressor Station on the Moe - Walhalla Road, takes the brigade another step closer to acquiring an additional vehicle.

Tanjil brigade is also the fire equipment maintenance service provider for the compressor station.

On the night of the presentation, Tanjil brigade members were given a tour of the compressor station by Paul Lorini, Manager Compression, which included information on the variety of hazards that would be encountered in the event of fire or other incident.

Mr Lorini said that a substantial amount of the gas consumed in Melbourne passes through the station and therefore the facility is regarded as a critical asset in the event of a bushfire threat.

APA Group proudly supports other CFA brigades across Victoria.
